SNAP is an accounting software package designed, not from an accountant's point of view, but rather from the point of view of a user in a small business. Indeed the programmer has used it in a New Zealand small country garage for some time now, and finds it most suitable for their mode of debtor record keeping. SNAP is primarily a Debtors Control and Invoicing application. It does not include a Stock Control module.
1. Debtors may be set as "One Time Debtor". At the End of Month process, an option may be selected to delete all "One Time Debtors" which have no transactions, and whose account balance is 0.00. While there is nothing novel in this, the useful feature is that these debtor details are stored in a "Deleted Debtors" table, and their data may easily be retrieved and used again. This means that the Debtor list can be culled to virtually active debtors only. Others may be set as "One Time", causing their records to be archived as soon as they may not be required. Reports look a whole lot tidier without the clutter of zero balances throughout.
2. Invoices may be kept open for as long as may be required within the same month period. Lines may be altered, added or deleted at any stage during the period in which an invoice is open. Ongoing jobs may then be recorded in the system, rather than tallied some other way until complete, and then manually transferred to the accounts package. If customers are in the habit of buying the odd items right throughout the month, they may be added to the same invoice as the sales occur.
3. Invoices may be created which are a copy of another invoice number. Invoices thus created may be altered in the normal way.
4. SNAP defaults to 15% GST, but this is easily configured to any percentage. Invoices may be created GST inclusive or GST Exclusive.
5. Invoices for jobs still incomplete at month's end may be transferred to the following month. They are removed from the current month, pending End of Month processing. After the End of Month process is complete, invoices thus transferred are again available for normal action.
6. Historical data may be viewed in any of a range of modes:
a. Historical data for a given month. All data for a month may be viewed on a month by month basis.
b. Historical data for a given Debtor. It is possible for a given debtor to view their data regressively month by month.
c. All transactions for every month recorded may be listed for a given debtor. These then can easily be viewed from the list.
d. All invoice lines containing an entered search string may be listed, and then viewed from the list. The list may be sorted in order of any of the listed columns.
7. Transactions may be edited or deleted.
8. Invoices may be emailed directly from SNAP in pdf format
SNAP requires the purchase of a security code for continued use. Without the code, all printed invoices and statements will show the words "Unregistered Copy" instead of your company name. Every other feature of the application is fully functional.
The current cost for a security code is NZ$49.95 Please contact us for payment details.
